Hello!
My name is Davis Wukovits, and I am a Sophomore and currently living on campus. I come to Lawrence all the way from my current home state of South Carolina because I love the cold weather and the Midwest in general. Aside for South Carolina, I have also lived in Georgia and California, which is where I was born. Although far from home, I feel at home here at Lawrence, and I am glad to be back on campus for another wonderful term. I am an intended film major at Lawrence and a history minor.
My two biggest hobbies are film and swimming. I have been swimming for a large majority of my life, but only have been swimming at a serious competitive level for a short time. I am also a member of the Lawrence University Swimming and Diving team. My film passion developed mostly in High School, but have been evolving rapidly in college. I took a class in high School about media production, where I helped produce multiple award winning journalism pieces for our school's broadcast journalism class which placed second in the nation at NSPA. I loved the aspects of getting to know the camera and how things are edited and made, which is a similar interest I share in film. Last term I took a film theory and criticism class, so I am looking forward to continue analyzing various films.
It stinks that this term still falls under the COVID pandemic, but I feel like film is a great way to bring us together in such a crazy time. In this introduction, I have posted a picture of myself swimming, along with a picture of my two dogs, because who doesn't love a dog photo.
Your dogs are honestly so cute! One of the things that I like about the pandemic is actually meeting people's animal friends via zoom. In all my years of teaching, Ive only had a student bring an animal to class once (a rat) but because of the pandemic I've met lots of cats, some dogs and two parrots!. I'm wondering if you will bring special insights to this week's class since it is a documentary and you've worked with that form before. In any case, I'm glad to have you in class and hear your perspective of upcoming films.
ReplyDeleteYour dogs look just a like it would be hard for me to tell them apart! I also think the pandemic has brought so many amazing animals into my life and they really help keep you company!
